Maytag Front Load Washer Door Locked Blinking

The lid lock is a default feature of your maytag front loading and top loading washer to prevent opening the appliance while the cleaning cycle is in progress.

First it had a code blinking that i looked up and it was for the water so i turned it on and now it is making a humming noise and the door is locked and that is all it will do. The top panel will then pull straight back up and off.

Press the power button and the washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes during which time the pump will run continuously. This happened when i forgot to turn the water on. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled.

If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor. Run a drain and spin cycle. The door may immediately unlock.
